  1. Hi, I need help understanding this part

    > 今年は、全国的に少し桜の開花が早かったため、大阪でも開催時期がずれるか心配されましたが、今、まさに 満開となっています

So I understand it as saying, “This year, because the cherry bloom started a little early country-wide, people were worried that the opening period (of Cherry Blossom Passage?) in Osaka would shift as well, but now, it’s pretty much in full bloom.”

The Cherry Blossom Passage would be shifted because of the early cherry bloom?

    1. Your interpretation is accurate. They were worried that since the cherry blossoms were blooming earlier than usual that year in other places, that the cherry blossoms at the Osaka site would shift to an earlier time as well. But they were blooming “now” which was the normal time period.

  2. さくらさん,

Quick question. Does 「桜の通り抜け」 refer only to the official cherry blossom trails by the mint in Osaka or can it mean anywhere there are cherry blossom trees?

    1. In Kansai if you say,「桜の通り抜け」everyone would think of the one by the Osaka Mint. But there are probably other places called by the same name in Japan. I guess we don’t use the term in a general sense. I hope that answers the questions.
