the comic was turned into a live-action adaptation まんが を じっしゃかした
the story is set in Kamakura of Kanagawa Prefecture ものがたり は かながわけん の かまくらを ぶたいに しています
Isshiki Masakazu (is) a mystery writer living in Kamakura いっしき まさかず は かまくらにくらす ミステリーさっか
a young Akiko としのわかい あきこ
marries Masakazu まさかず の もとに とつぎました
has nothing but surprises in her new life あたらしい せいかつに おどろくことばかり
when she walks down the streets みちを あるけば
demons and ghosts まもの や ゆうれい
Monsters and departed souls, and the grim reaper appear かいぶつ や ほとけさま 、 しにがみが あらわれます
in this place, it appears to be a town where various things get along fine このばしょは いろんなものが なかよくくらす まちらしいのです
one day あるひ
when Masakazu who has collapsed from her illness awakes やまいに たおれた まさかずが めをさますと
Akiko had disappeared あきこ の すがた が きえていました
Akiko had died in a freak accident and… あきこ は ふりょ の じこで なくなって
had exited to the underworld (yomi no kuni = the next world, the afterlife) よみのくに （ よみ の くに ＝ あのよ ） に たびだっていました
in order to get Akiko back, Masakazu まさかずは あきこ を とりもどすために
heads to the underworld よみのくに に むかいます
there, many of the evil entities that kidnapped Akiko were waiting そこには あきこ を さらった たくさんのまものたち が まっていました
