School Lunches がっこう の きゅうしょく
at elementary school in Japan にほん の しょうがっこう では
we eat lunch with our classmates at school おひるごはん を クラス の みんな と がっこう で たべます
the lunch (we) eat at school がっこう で たべる おひるごはん
we call ‘kyuushoku’ きゅうしょく と いいます
the lunch ladies きゅうしょく の おばさんたち
make delicious meals for us every day まいにち おいしい ごはん を つくってくれます
it is not just about eating たべるだけでは ありません
those on lunch duty (students designated to help out with distributing the lunch) きゅうしょく とうばん
side dishes, bread, milk, etc. おかず や パン、 ぎゅうにゅう など
distribute their classmates’ portions クラスメートぶん ふりわけます
The students at the elementary school cultivate some of the ingredients they eat (themselves). しょくざい の いちぶ は しょうがっこう で せいと が さいばいしたもの を たべます。
after eating, everyone clears it up together しょくご は みんな で かたづけ を し
they clean classrooms, hallways, staff rooms and so on きょうしつ、 ろうか、 しょくいんしつ など を そうじ します
In addition to eating, they feel gratitude to those who made it たベるだけでなく、 つくってくれた ひと へ の かんしゃ の きもち
they can learn a lot of things like the importance of the ingredients etc. しょくざい の たいせつさ など たくさんのこと を まなぶこと が できます
